Escape the Ghost World: Chapter 1

A brown haired girl sat in real world math class her hazel eyes glazed over from boredom. It was a normal classroom, with normal kids but it wasn't a normal world.

"I wonder what the real world is like?!" snapped a sharp, angry voice that no one seemed to hear. There stood a brown haired, fiery eyed girl in the exact same room except it was different, everything seemed slightly more...misty and blurred like you where seeing that room through glasses you didn't need. This is the Ghost World. Around the 1400s, humans decided they didn't want supernatural beings in their world so they found a way to imprison them. With the help of an old witch who didn't have any better sense than to help, they created the Ghost World. Which is basically a copy of the real world, only once you're in, there is supposedly no way out.

"I've been in this stupid place for fifteen years! I just want out!" snarling, Sora kicked the wall which resulted in serious pain for her leg. If you saw Sora from a distance you might think Oh she's just another normal girl. That's where your wrong sure if you really weren't paying attention, she just seems like a regular tomboyish girl. Her long brown hair is usually thrown in a pony tail or braided and she just wears a white t-shirt, jeans and combat boots. But if you look up close, you might notice light brown wolf ears sticking up from her head or maybe the matching tail that was wrapped around her leg. When she spoke you could see the oddly sharp upper and lower canine teeth. Yes, she was definitely not normal, this girl was a demon. A good demon, mind you, but still a demon.

Sighing patiently, Yui stood up and stretched.

"Sora, be sensible. They created the Ghost World so the supernatural couldn't escape. Besides you'd be foolish to try."

Growling, the irritated demon paced the room,

"Oh yeah, why would I be dumb!" she spat, glaring at Yui, who stared back, her soft green eyes looking sad and amused.

"Sora, there are three main reasons why: One you don't know how to leave, Two the attempt may or may not kill you, Three, you're a demon you need a host." The fight seemed to instantly go out the girl, slumping against the wall, she bowed her head with a sigh. Sarah stared at the two girls absentmindedly, twirling her scythe. As she twirled, her thoughts drifted to how their great times fourteen grandparents had been thrown into this prison by senseless humans. The more she thought about that, the angrier she got. She spun her scythe, and, as though to express her disgust, she threw at the wall. The weapon spiraled through the air, and hit, creating a deep gash in the wall.
Sora and Sarah jolted forward, staring at the gash the blade had made in the wall. It was small, but they could see a sliver of the real world. Sora's golden eyes widened and Sarah slowly lifted her scythe up.

"I remember!" Sarah suddenly exclaimed running to a cabinet and pulling out a thick, heavy ancient book. Sarah flung it open scattering dust everywhere, she ran her finger down the pages.

Five Minutes Later

"AHA!" Sarah grinned triumphantly and lifting the book into her hands she read aloud to Sora, who was staring at the sliver in the wall. "When the Ghost World was created, the Witch was often mumbling about it being done incorrectly or  sometimes a chink in the armor."

Blinking, Sora tipped her head, "Chink in the armor?" she ran her fingers through her hair giving Sarah a questioning look.

"Yeah chink in the armor means a weak spot and I think we've found our one way ticket out of here." Sarah was quivering with excitement, and her red eyes danced. Sora could barely believe her ears, "Y-You mean we could escape?"

"But the attempt could kill you!" Yui's voice came out as a protesting squeak.

"I'd rather die than spend another day here, Yui."

Lucy Amaimon walked down the school halls to history, not knowing her normal world was about to get turned upside down and inside out.

Picking up her scythe, Sarah pulled Sora to her feet. Sora unsheathed her sword and grinned. Glancing over her shoulder Sora said, "See you on the other side"
